Mickleover Out On Bikes
On Sunday 2nd March 2014, despite the weather, Mickleover Out On Bikes Prologue Ride was very popular! Twenty five riders split into two groups, leaving from the Great Northern Pub on Station Road, Mickleover at 2.00 pm. Younger riders rode down the cycle path towards Etwall while the second group rode along Radbourne Lane. Meeting up at the bridge on Heage Lane, everyone cycled back together to the start point. The ride was approximately 6 miles and took about an hour.
Silverhill pupils, Emily and Louisa, enjoyed the ride having taken part in their first ride with this group at Christmas (they even got goody bags on that occasion!) and this time were joined by Flynn, who put his cycling skills to good use!
The Mickleover Out On Bikes group will be running this family friendly ride the first Sunday of every month. For full details you can 'like' their Facebook page (https://Facebook.com/CycleMickleover) and 'follow' them on Twitter - search for Mickleover Out on Bikes.

Big pedal
The Big Pedal is a giant inter-school cycling and scooting competition that encourages children, teachers and parents to choose two wheels for their school journeys.
This year’s competition spans 10 school days, from 3 to 14 March, and the more children who scoot and cycle each day, the more points our school will earn. With lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs, including bike and scooter stunt displays, children’s bikes and scooter parking why not join in? It's great fun, eco friendly and a fantastic way to keep fit! Click here to find out more!
