Supporting Earth Hour

At Silverhill we actively encourage children and parents to engage with environmental issues. Many iconic landmarks will be turning off their lights for Earth Hour, including Big Ben, Wembly, the Albert Hall and the BT tower. Why not turn off the lights and do something different for an hour? Have a late supper by candle light, play hide and seek in the dark, read a book in bed by torch light? Turn of your lights for an hour on Saturday 26th March at 8.30 in support of Earth Hour and tell us next week what you did with your hour!

Gymnastics win

Silverhill took part in the Derby Year 1 and 2 Gymnastics Competition at SPringwood Leisure Centre on Thursday 10th March. The team of 6 performed a floor routine, a body management routine and a vault. All the children have been practising on a Thursday at Gym Club as well as in their living rooms at home. Mrs Brundish was incredibly proud of all the gymnasts that took part and the team won the bronze award for third place out of 18 schools. The competition also included individual prizes and Anna won the Silver prize for second place. Well done girls!
