Ivor Goodsite visit

Silverhill pupils today welcomed Ivor Goodsite into school. During assembly, site manager Will, introduced Ivor to the school and explained all about building sites, highlighting the dangers that can be found and importance of health and safety on and around a building site. Ivor help the children prepare the Year 6 ideas for a time capsule that will be burried as part of the new building work before visiting our youngest pupils in Foundation Stage. He didn't seem to mind being called 'Bob' the builder! All our Year 6 pupils then had the opportunity to try their hand at laying bricks. Some future brick layers were discovered, though we're glad the work does not form a part of our new classroom. We'll leave that to the experts!
Many thanks to Ivor, Will and B&K for the opportunity, new hard hats and high viz jackets and the goodie bags at the and of the day!

Building Part 2

Can you spot the difference from last week?

Building Part 1

Anyone who has been into school since the first day of term can't help but notice some big changes to the school premises - the builders have definitely started! Movement around school is a little more complicated but very well organised by the team of builders and school staff. New doors into the hall through the quiet area allow access into the building for pupils in Year 5 and 6 whist parents can find the temporary school office located in the old staff room. This can be accessed from the main pedestrian path along a temporary path between the to building fences.

End of another year's 'School Daze'....

At the end of another fantastic year at Silverhill we say so long and farewell to our brilliant Year 6 pupils who now move on to pastures new. After working exceptionally hard and achieving brilliant SAT's results and putting on a super end of year performance of School Daze (watch the highlights here), the whole school lined the playground to clap the children out towards their parents. Well done Year 6 - you made us very proud, good bye and good luck to you all! Have a wonderful summer everyone!
