Science Week

On Friday 1st February Silverhill started 'Science Week', where all the children throughout the school had a week full of amazing science based learning, specifically focusing on the Arctic, Antarctic and global warming. The week began with a fascinating visit in school assembly from Dr Jen King, a polar scientist who had been on a recent expedition to The Arctic. Classes also had a workshops from a very knowledgeable Mr Collins, where they looked at jigsaw models of the polar regions, global warming experiments and were even able to try real clothing Scientists would wear to both Polar Regions! Mrs Smith helped us build our very own Polar ice burg and children all made a penguin pledge, to do their bit to help prevent global warming. Thank you to all the parents who came into school to see all the science work and well done to all the children for their enthusiasm!
