On Thursday 24th November Year 5 headed to Tutbury Castle for the day to meet the Queen! The children were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth herself, who then told the children some fascinating facts such as: she used to wear thick white makeup to cover up small pox, she came to the throne in 1558 and ruled England for almost 45 years, when she got angry she would throw her shoes at people and many more. A lovely gentleman named Mike showed us around and told us many interesting facts about the Tudor period which has been our topic this term. We loved our trip to Tutbury and would love to go there again.
