Year 3 residential

Sport Relief

On Friday 23rd March over 80 parents, staff and children joined the Sport Relief Mile. The sun shone as everyone joined in a quick Take 10 warm up before setting of on the 2 laps of the school grounds to complete the 1 mile route. Some chose to run, some chose to walk while others danced, kicked a football or joined a friend to try the three legged approach, all to raise money for Sport Relief. All those who joined in were rewarded with a cup of squash and a well earned biscuit from the PTFA. Well done to everyone who took part. Come back soon to find out the total raised.

Year 4 residential

Year 4’s had an amazing time at the Condover Hall residential. We did high ropes, trapeze, tunnelling, night walks and even went to a silent disco. The children behaved impeccably and everyone showed all the Olympic Values in the way they tackled a wide range of activities. Thank you for a fantastic residential. Mrs P.

Dance festival

On Thursday 8th March 24 year 4 children performed in the Derby City Celebration of dance at the Assembly Rooms. The dancers were all brilliant. The routine was danced to ‘Glow’ and was inspired by the Olympic Torch. The children had a wonderful time and their only complaint was not being able to dance it again! Mrs P.

Year 5/6 trip to West Midlands Safari Park

Our trip to the safari park!
On Friday the 16th of March Year 5 and 6 went to West Midland Safari Park in Birmingham. To begin, we all came into the safari park eager and intrigued by the passing giraffe in the back ground. Then when we entered the safari drive through. We all saw giraffes, rhinos, and deer at the start of the drive. We saw other things like lions, white lions, tigers, llamas, wild dogs and hippopotamus. These animals were only in the drive through. When we set off into the plaza we saw meerkats, lemurs, penguins and monkeys. We entered the reptile house where we saw Snakes and other sorts off reptile. Also we went into the discovery centre where there were exhibits showing fish and sea creatures. Extending on to the discovery centre we walked nervously through a room full of bats and fruit bats! Scary… But overall the trip was a terrific and in some places a creepy walk into the wild side! Ten out of Ten!
