Key Stage 1 Sports Day

For once the sun was shining perfectly for our Key Stage 1 sports day on Monday 23rd May. The children started their sporting morning with a superheros warm up before moving on to demonstrate all their sporting skills in front our the scores of proud parents who came to support. The children did a magnificent job in all activities, particular congratulations to the winning team Brazil and to our individual winners of 'performers of the day' for showing such fantastic Olympic values.

Squash and Toast week 2016

During week commencing 9th May our Year 6 pupils stepped up to the mark and took their SATs. Preparing each day with a warm up session and early break, energizing with fruit, juice and toast the children then took a total of 6 SATs papers in Reading, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation, Arithmetic and Mathematical Reasoning over the four days. Friday was a day off from the normal curriculum as the day was spent outdoor learning, making bird boxes, putting together energy monitoring stations and grounds maintenance! Well done Year 6, you've made us very proud. Back to learning on Monday... 9 weeks to go!

Year 1 visit the zoo

On Tuesday 10th May and what was probably the wettest day of the week, Year 1 went to the zoo. Rain certainly didn't dampen spirits as the children enjoyed watching penguins having their lunch, walking among butterflies, standing like flamingos and watching giraffes and monkeys and many more amazing animals! Thank you to all the parents who came along to help, the children had a wonderful day.

The Big Pedal - bling your wheels

Thank you to all the children that 'blinged up' their bike or scooter today and to everyone who has been pedalling or scooting over the last 2 weeks. The standard of 'blinging' was very high and it was very difficult to choose the 3 winners. With help of Miss Smith three were chosen though; well done Jack G, Seth and Gabi.
