Superstar Anna!
Over the Easter holidays Anna had an amazing time when she performed in the 'Stars in the Round' show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with the Tiptoe School of Performing Arts. Remember Anna'a name, as we're sure she will be a famous dancer / performer in the future, as she also appeared in the 'Peter Pan' panto in Derby at Christmas. Keep showing that star quality Anna!
Well done Isabelle!
Great news from Isabelle who recently entered the Easter competition with Armsons to count the number of chicks on their
website (www.armsons.com). Once she had found them all she was asked to write why she loves Easter. Isabelle said 'I
liked hunting for eggs and spending time with my family' for which she won £100 for the
school and some lovely Easter goodies for herself!
Well done Isabelle!

Year 5/6 visit Harry Potter Studios
To kick off the Summer term topic of 'Lights, Camera, Action', on Thursday 17th April Year 5/6 visited Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studios. Arriving at school at 7.30am they excitedly set of on the 2 hour coach journey for what turned out to be a wonderful trip. From the Hogwarts Great Hall to Privet Drive, seeing sets, costumes, and special effects, using wands, riding brooms and strolling down Diagon Ally the children were full of awe and wonder and were impeccably behaved throughout.

Year 2 gymnastics competition
Congratulations to Reece, Kirthi, Abigail, Isha,
Lucy and Charlotte who were chosen to represent Silverhill in the
Derby School Sport Partnership Gymnastics competition. It was a tough
competition against 14 schools where children had to perform a floor exercise,
body management and vault sequence. The children performed excellently and went
on to win gold at the competition. Well done!
Miss Vincent and Miss Ralph are
very proud of you!
Year 3 soldier visit
This term the pupils in Year have been learning all about Romans and on Friday 19th March they were very excited to have a Roman Soldier come and visit. They found out lots of interesting information about Roman life, got to hold Roman weaponry and even march in formation with our Roman shields!
100% tea party
On Wednesday 27th March a selection of children were invited to attend a special 'Tea Party' to celebrate their 100% attendance in school last term. Well done children - we hope you enjoyed your treat!

Reception visit Chatsworth
On
Tuesday 26th April 2013 Robins and Wrens ventured out in the cold
and snow to Chatsworth Farm and Adventure Playground. By the time we had
arrived the wind had dropped and the sun had come out. We had a good look round
the farm at the animals and then went into a nice warm barn where we learned
more about some of the animals. We were able to handle and groom some of the
guinea pigs and chicks, we also fed the lambs. After lunch we went onto the
adventure playground and had a great time using all the equipment. A great day
out!

Let's get Mr Turner into space!
Many thanks to Mr Turner who visited Year 5/6 today to support the current Science topic by sharing his knowledge of light, space, the stars and so much more! The children were full of awe and wonder listening to Mr Turner's amazing facts and asked some brilliant, and very deep, questions!
